Festival season is in full swing and with many great music events such as T in the Park, Wireless and Capital Summertime Ball already been and gone it isn't to late to keep the spirit alive and enjoy the rest of the summer. I have teamed up with John Lewis to bring you the perfect carnival inspired makeup look. As you may already know, John Lewis houses some amazing high end makeup brands - Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Dior and Clinique, to name a few. As it's summertime, John Lewis have put together 'The Edit' (see it here) of many bright and colourful makeup that would be perfect for festivals and summer events. So, from 'The Edit' I've picked out Clinique Lid Pop eyeshadows which look stunning. I also went with the beautiful New Classics lipstick from Bobbi Brown in the shade Bond. I've been dying to try her lipsticks for the longest and I'm super excited about it - more on that in a minute!
First of all I'm going to start with the beautiful purple and blue eye look that I have going on. For this you will need the gorgeous new shades from Clinique's Lid Pop range. The shades I've paired are 'Grape Pop' (purple) and 'Surf Pop' (blue). I went with these two shades because side by side they reminded me of a carnival.
There is great pigmentation from these Clinique eye shadows and they build to a beautiful shimmer finish. However, if you wet your brushes with a setting spray (any brand) it intensifies the shadow and makes it extra vibrant. I started by applying the shadows just as they are to build up colour then wet my brush and tapped more shadow on top to add a 'POP'. A guide on how to get this eye look is listed below.
Now moving on to the lips. I mentioned above that I was very excited to try this new lipstick from Bobbi Brown, well lets admit, who isn't excited to try new Bobbi Brown products?! This is one of her New Classics Luxe Lip lipsticks and it has exceeded my expectations. The shade I'm wearing is 'Bond' and it's a deep plum shade with undertones of brown. This is a silky smooth lipstick with a very comfortable cream finish on my lips. It locks in vitamin E & C to keep your lips nourished and hydrated all day. I'm loving dark lips at the minute even though Autumn is still a few months away! I decided to pair this luscious dark lip with a bright and bold eye to even out the look. I really love the finished look. I remind myself of a Tarot reader with a crystal ball. Proving perfect for a carnival, festival, or night event this Summer. So go on, give it a go, you'll love the finish of both the Clinique Lid Pop shadows and the New Classics lipsticks by Bobbi Brown.

Get The Look
Step 1 - Apply bronzer all over lid concentrating more in the crease to add definition and a base before shadows.
Step 2 - Take 'Grape Pop' by Clinique and apply that all over the lid with a (dry) eyeshadow brush.
Step 3 - With a blending brush pick up some of 'Surf Pop' by Clinique and apply that into the outer corner and inner corner to give you a dual effect.
Step 4 - Repeat these steps on the lower lash liner however reverse the shades (purple - blue - purple).
Step 5 - Wet your eyeshadow brush and pick up more product, then tap that on top of the shadow to give you that POP.
Step 6 - Tight line your waterline with a pencil liner.
Step 7 - Line your up lash line with Estee Lauder 'Little Black Liner' (or liner of your choice) and add a flick on the end to create drama.
Step 8 - Coat your lashes with Clinique High Impact Mascara and your done with your eyes!
Step 9 - Line lips with a nude lip liner to create the illusion of fuller lips.
Step 10 - Apply the beautiful shade 'Bond' by Bobbi Brown to your lips and pout!
